Reflections | 18th-pta-2015

Since 1969 National PTA's Reflections program has provided students across the country with the opportunities for recognition and access to the arts which strengthens student confidence and success in the arts and in life.

Each year thousands of students fro Pre-K to 12th Grade participant in the program by producing original pieces of artwork to California State PTA through their Districts, Councils, and Units related to the year's selected theme.

“I am Hopeful Because…”

That’s the theme for the 2023-24 Reflections Art Program, which has been bringing the arts to life for more than 10 million students since 1969. California State PTA and its members, families and kids are on the forefront of this amazing program, which increases community awareness of the importance of arts in education.

Reflections encourages students of all ages to:

Unleash creative talents and be inspired
Express themselves imaginatively in their artwork
Experience the fun and joy of making art
Tap into critical thinking skills to create art inspired by the annual theme
Receive positive recognition for their original works of art.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Enroll your PTA in the 2022-2023 National PTA Reflections Program for your free digital Reflections kit.
Student Entry Packet including entry form and rules, available in English and Spanish
Guides for Local Leaders in English and Spanish
Reflections logos, flyers and other promotional tools
Materials for PTAs

Artworks are submitted first to the local unit, where they are first judged by five grade-level divisions, with a non-judged Special Artists division for student artists with special needs. Units then select entries to move forward to District PTA.

The District's final selections are submitted to California State PTA to be considered for Outstanding Interpretation, Awards of Excellence or Awards of Merit. Outstanding Interpretation and Award of Excellence entries then go on to represent California in the final National PTA judging round.

All Unit entries are due to Eighteenth District PTA by December 1, 2023.

Reflections Theme Search

Each year, students are invited to submit themes for the annual Reflections Art Program that will inspire young artists to create original works.
